I came to WVU in January of 1995 to complete a degree in Biology, and I joined the INVAM team at the same time. I am working toward attending graduate school in either Parks and Recreation or in Wildlife Management. Someday I would love to work in the western U.S. and track animals like wolves and cougars (see photo) and study their behavior. But for now, I am enjoying the opportunity to learn about the odd (and finicky) behavior of arbuscular fungi and their plant hosts. What makes the job great? I am working with an awesome crew and, of course, some wild and crazy fungi like Glomus intraradices. In the photograph, I am standing next to one of my favorite co-workers, Bill Wheeler.
When I'm not working in the lab or studying diligently, I enjoy camping, hiking, and skiing, all of which is in abundantly available in this amazing state of West Virginia.
I have since gotten married and moved to Greenbrier County, where my husband and I conduct analyses of traffic patterns for the state.
