My Master's research involved the study of glomalin, a glycoprotein produced exclusively by AM fungi. This molecule contains a high percentage of iron (up to 5%), and therefore I examined the effects of iron in soil on the accumulation of glomalin on fungal external hyphae.

I now am employed by USDA-ARS in Beltsville, Maryland, where I work in the laboratory of Dr. Sara Wright. I also am working on a Ph.D. at the University of Maryland. My research is a continuation of that conducted at WVU, but with a focus on chemical characterization of the glomalin molecule.
